The Unwavering Journey of The Dead Daisies: A Testament to Consistency in Rock 'n' Roll
"Success isn't always about greatness; it's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success, and greatness will follow." This adage encapsulates the unwavering commitment of The Dead Daisies, a band that has carved its niche in the world of rock with a relentless work ethic and an unfaltering dedication to quality.
Now, at the crossroads of their 12-year milestone, The Dead Daisies are poised to release their seventh studio album, "Light Em Up," a testament to their growth and rising stature within the music industry. The upcoming album heralds the return of John Corabi, re-engaging the vocal prowess that characterized the band's early years after a stint with Glenn Hughes at the helm.
Hughes brought his distinctive style to the band's previous two albums, "Holy Ground" and "Radiance"—both remarkable contributions to the band's discography. However, with "Light Em Up," we witness a homecoming to The Dead Daisies' authentic sound—a sound that longtime fans will recognize as the true essence of the band's rock 'n' roll identity.
"Light Em Up" is not just another addition to the band's impressive musical journey; it's a powerhouse of an album that drives full speed ahead with roaring big riffs, anthemic, fist-pumping tunes, and an overarching feel-good vibe that permeates every track. It's more than music; it's an experience—a celebration of the raw, unadulterated spirit of rock that The Dead Daisies have championed since their inception.
As The Dead Daisies continue to thrive in the music scene, their story is one of inspiration, demonstrating that steadfastness and quality are indeed catalysts of success and drivers of greatness. With "Light Em Up," they reassure us that the heart of rock 'n' roll beats as strong as ever, fueled by passion, talent, and above all, consistency.
Just before the band left the US for the UK I caught up with John Corabi and Doug Aldrich
to talk about the new album and tour during the conversation John revealed that the band
have not one but 2 albums recorded after "Light Em Up" there will be an album of blues covers to come in 2025 .
Richie Kotzen: A Maestro of Musical Fusion on the Cusp of "Nomad"
On the upcoming episode, we are thrilled to welcome the incomparable Richie Kotzen—singer, songwriter, and a virtuoso guitarist whose name is synonymous with musical innovation. As we anticipate the release of his new album "Nomad," we delve into the artistry that has defined Kotzen's career.
Fusion, often regarded as the holy grail in music, is the intricate art of blending diverse genres into a cohesive whole. While many artists attempt this feat, only a select few truly excel. Richie Kotzen stands among those rare talents who have not just mastered but also redefined this craft, navigating through complex musical landscapes that others find inscrutable.
Reflecting on the words of the late Jeff Buckley, "I remember going on a trip to the beach in LA, and there were all these Jazz places everywhere with all these musicians playing. It was just a lot of notes; the more they played, the more it kept them from expressing themselves. I just went home and got out all my Led Zeppelin LPs." This sentiment echoes the challenges artists face when technical prowess overshadows emotional expression.
However, Richie Kotzen faces no such dilemma. His upcoming album, "Nomad," is a celebration of musical diversity, seamlessly integrating elements across genres without losing the essence of expression. It's an auditory festival where each listen unveils a new layer—a testament to Kotzen's ability to create songs that resonate on multiple levels. Whether it's the poignant lyrics, the mesmerizing guitar work, the resonant bass lines, or the infectious groove, "Nomad" promises to be an album that invites listeners to explore and appreciate the multifaceted nature of its composition.
Join us as we sit down with Richie Kotzen to explore the journey behind "Nomad," an album that not only showcases his exceptional talent but also serves as a beacon for aspiring fusion artists. Tune in and prepare to be captivated by the stories and sounds of a true maestro at work.
